Founded in 2019, the Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Society is a major giving society established to honor people who are extraordinary supporters of the Diocesan/Parish Share Campaign of the Diocese of Steubenville. Membership is granted on an annual basis to parishioners who contribute $500 or more to the DPSC during the course of the year.
The Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Society was well received during its first year. In 2019, 485 families (households) enrolled from every county throughout the entire diocese. At least one household enrolled from 54 out of the 55 parishes and missions of the diocese. Altogether, members of the Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Society contributed $1,030,377 to the 2019 DPSC, which is nearly half of the entire campaign.
Special events were held for members at different locations throughout the diocese – in Steubenville, St. Clairsville, Marietta and Ironton. Each event consisted of a Mass celebrated by Bishop Monforton, followed by a Wine and Cheese Reception. These events provided an opportunity for the bishop to personally thank these major donors to the DPSC and to pray for their intentions.
We are hoping to hold Masses and receptions with Bishop Monforton in October and November of this year; those enrolling in the Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Society will receive an invitation to attend one of these events.
"The Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Society" has several recognition levels called “chapters” which Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton has chosen to name after the most exalted choirs of Angels.
