The third annual Diocese of Steubenville “Celebration for Families” is planned for Feb. 9 at Holy Rosary Church, Steubenville. The event is free and will begin at 4 p.m. with a presentation by John Bersgma on “Seven Habits of Holy, Effective Catholic Families.” Bersgma is is a professor of theology at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he has taught Scripture since 2004. A former Protestant pastor, Bersgma has wrote eight books on Scripture and the Catholic faith. He regularly speaks at parish missions, conferences, clergy convocations and other events nationally and internationally. He and his wife, Dawn, reside in Steubenville with their eight children. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton at 5:30 p.m.; a dinner with bishop will follow. Each household will be able to come forward at the dinner for an individual blessing from Bishop Monforton. Reservations for the event is encouraged to help plan for the meal.
